Henfield Leisure Centre are hosting an amazing fundraising event for March 2012. A group of people are organising 7 marathons in 7 days on 7 of our Treadmills. The objective is to raise £21,000. 70% for Clic Sargent (helping children with cancer) and 30% for Henfield Leisure Centre as we are a charity.
A bit more about who is involved-
Sam Bremner and Malcolm Lane will be running 7 marathons in 7 days in aid of CLIC Sargent and Henfield Leisure Centre in March 2012. This charity is close to Sam’s heart as her nephew Ashton who was only 4 years old (March 2010 )when he was diagnosed with leukaemia and is currently being treated at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton.
We have a committee of 7 volunteers, we are as follows:
Sam Bremner- who came up with the crazy idea and is running all 7 marathons – 1 each day!
Tracey Prescott – Sam’s sister (who isn’t mad enough to do the running) is another of Ashtons Aunties and holds the charity very dear and will be involved throughout the whole process to make the week a success
Paul Newbatt – Henfield Leisure Centre Committee Member and has been involved in many local sports groups including a very successful girls football team at Henfield Football Club
Angelina Andrews- Self made business woman whose business and marketing skills will be invaluable
Matt Chard - Personal trainer at Henfield Leisure centre – who will be very much involved in the fitness side of the week
Malcolm Lane - another running nut who will be running a marathon everyday as well
Martin Hayne – Ashtons Dad and Sam and Tracey’s brother – who may even be running some of the miles himself
